Digital systems to support emergency medical service. A Germany-wide cross-sectional survey on current availability, utilization and existing challenges
In 2020, we conducted a Germany-wide, exploratory, cross-sectional survey among EMS personnel asking for the available technical equipment of their ambulance vehicles and stations to support their work, such as digital documentation and hospital prenotification, interdisciplinary care capacity notification, real-time telehealth services and digital radio units. Furthermore, it was asked for their demands, wishes and expected challenges when it comes to the continued outroll of new technologies and solutions in the EMS.
After going through the peer review process, the results of the survey were published in the journal „Der Anaesthesist“ on 6 January 2022 by Springer Nature Verlag. The paper is written in German language, however it contains an extended English abstract for interested international audience.
